Kathy Shockley, Executive Director- Kathy Shockley joined the Rays of Light Board of Directors in November, 2023, and assumed the position of Executive Director in February, 2024. Kathy holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Southwestern University, Georgetown, Texas, and a Masters in Long Term Care Administration from the University of North Texas. While Kathy's professional career has focused on senior adults with a special emphasis on those with dementia, her personal volunteer work has focused on children. She and her husband Bryan have 2 adult daughters, and she is thrilled to be part of the Rays of Light team.
Debbie Solomon, Program Director- Debbie Solomon is the Program Director for Night Lights (our respite care program) and has been with Rays of Light since September, 2010. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Education from Salem State University in Massachusetts and early on in her career, taught at the high school level. Debbie was a stay-at-home mom for many years and held various volunteer positions at her children’s schools. She is married and has two daughters. She feels extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to work for Rays of Light and to serve our special families.
Evelyn Hernandez, Program Coordinator White Rock UMC- Evelyn Hernandez is the part-time Program Coordinator overseeing the White Rock United Methodist Church site. Evelyn has been a volunteer with Rays of Light since 2018, and she is currently a pre-nursing student at Texas A&M Commerce. Some of Evelyn's favorite hobbies include reading, baking, and listening to music.
